Updated 20th April 2022

We look forward to welcoming you back to Her Majesty’s Theatre!

To ensure that we keep everyone as safe as is reasonably possible we’ve made some changes to the way we operate. This page provides the latest information on these changes, and what to expect when you visit Her Majesty’s Theatre.

We are monitoring the latest advice from the Australian and Victorian Governments and will continue to update our procedures as necessary.

From Saturday 23rd April, patrons will no longer be required to show proof of their vaccinated status

PRIOR TO THE PERFORMANCE

Share information with your party
If you are the ticket purchaser, you will receive several pre-arrival emails from Ticketek, sharing important information with you. Please be aware that only the ticket purchaser will receive these emails, so be sure to forward the communications onto everyone in your party so that they are all aware of what to expect on their visit.

If you are feeling unwell, stay home
If you are felling unwell, please do not attend the performance. You should stay home and follow government guidelines and get tested and isolate whilst waiting for your test results.

Ticket exchanges are available, book with confidence!
If you are unwell and cannot make it to your performance, or unable to attend because you are isolating, please let us know as early as possible. Please notify Ticketek’s Box Office at Her Majesty’s Theatre at bo_hmt@ticketek.com.au and they will arrange a transfer of tickets to a different performance.

AT THE THEATRE

Arrive early and check your tickets
We recommend arriving at least 30 mins before the performance. The Theatre will be open 2 hours prior to Act 1 with auditorium doors opening from 30 minutes prior to Act 1.

Masks are highly recommended
Patrons are not required to wear a face mask for the duration of your visit. Masks will be readily available should you wish to wear one.

In the auditorium
In accordance with the DHHS and by approval under the Public Events Framework, Her Majesty’s Theatre can currently hold up to 100% capacity, or a maximum of 1,700 patrons, for all performances. The auditorium will be seated in our standard layout which means that there will not be physical distancing within the auditorium, and you may have patrons sitting directly next to, in front of, and behind you.

We aim to provide a COVID Safe Venue
Our theatre foyers and auditorium receive a professional clean after every performance, and our staff will continue to constantly clean and disinfect washrooms, touchpoints and high traffic areas throughout the performance.

In addition to this our air conditioning system has been upgraded and fitted out with Steril-Aire UVC technology. This engineered solution is designed to kill 99.9% of all air borne viruses and bacteria.

Please undertake good hand and respiratory hygiene
You can also play a part in maintaining a COVID safe venue. Make use of the hand sanitiser that will be available throughout the venue, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.

Practice good physical distancing
Though it is not mandatory, where it’s practical to do so, please ensure that you keep your distance when queuing and moving throughout the foyers. Signage throughout the theatre will help with guidance on other ways to protect your wellbeing.

Keep things moving
Some foyer seating will no longer be available to allow for better flowing foyers.

HMT does not have a Cloakroom
Please don’t bring any large personal items or bags or handbags larger than equivalent to an A4 sheet as we cannot permit them in the venue.

Contactless payments
All of our outlets are cashless, and we can only accept contactless payments at our bars, box office and merchandise counters.

At the end of the show
At the end of the performance, we will be exiting the auditorium in sections. Please follow the instructions of Her Majesty’s Theatre staff. Once you have exited the theatre, we ask that you promptly move away from the exits to ensure others can exit without congestion.

If a performance is cancelled
You will be notified by Ticketek and your tickets will be transferred to a new performance. For further information regarding individual show exchange or refund policies, please visit the relevant show website or contact Ticketek.

Please note our Conditions of Entry
By entering the venue, you agree to abide by our Conditions of Entry which have been updated to reflect our COVID Safe measures and requirements. You are also agreeing to follow the directions of our staff and signage, and any applicable government directives.

If your question hasn’t been answered here or you have any additional queries or concerns, you can contact us at admin@hmt.com.au.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these times and we can’t wait to see you back at the theatre!
