Fiddler On The Roof

Sold out in London twice, where it broke the record for the best-selling musical of all time at the Barbican Theatre, the winner of 3 Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival, this global landmark production of Fiddler On The Roof will play a strictly limited season at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne from 31 October2026.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience this critically acclaimed production direct from the West End.

From the powerhouse creative team directed by Jordan Fein (Into The Woods), choreographed by Julia Cheng (Cabaret), designed by Tom Scutt (Olivier & Tony Award winner).

It’s 1905 in the tiny village of Anatevka, where Tevye, a Jewish milkman, lives his life by their proud traditions. For his five daughters, this means a visit from the matchmaker. As each daughter challenges his beliefs, against the backdrop of a changing world, can Tevye hold on to his roots, or must he bend to the will of his children and learn to embrace the unfamiliar?

Leading the high-octane cast as Tevye is Australian and West end star Troy Sussman (Sunset Boulevard), beloved and decorated Australian icon Sigrid Thornton as Yente, John Waters (Waitress) as Lazar Wolf, and Alexis Fishman (Anne Being Frank) as Golde, and introducing rising stars Freya Boltman (Yiddish Divas) as Tzeitel, Ellen Ebbs (Head Over Heels) as Hodel and Caity Plummer (Sunset Boulevard) as Chava with internationally acclaimed violinist Ben Adler as the Fiddler.

As one of the greatest musicals of all time featuring, ‘If I Were A Rich Man’, ‘Tradition’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘Sunrise, Sunset’, this classic musical of joy and community is an exuberant celebration of love and life.
