The main doors and Box Office at HMT open two (2) hours prior to the start of each performance.

During that time you are free to collect your tickets, buy a programme and enjoy a beverage or something to eat at one of our bars, and soak up the atmosphere of the theatre.

The Auditorium doors will usually open 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Your tickets will be scanned at the Door indicated on your ticket and you will be shown to your seats by one of our friendly ushers.

The performance will generally start on time and lock out periods may apply, so we recommend you arrive with enough time to find your seats and get comfortable.

Due to the nature of live performance, trying to find your way to your seat once a show has started can disrupt both the audience and the performers on stage. Therefore, most performances have a lockout period which restricts anybody from entering the auditorium until a suitable break in the performance.

The performance is streamed live onto screens in the foyers to ensure that you don’t miss any of the action.

No. All shows performed at HMT are protected by stringent copyright laws and taking still photos, video and audio recordings is a direct violation of these laws.

Most productions at HMT will have programmes and souvenir items available for purchase from one hour before each performance. You can also make your purchase at interval and after the final curtain.

Packaged foods and cold drinks purchased at any of our theatre bars can be taken into the auditorium during the performance. Please be sure to get a plastic cup from the bars or ushers before entering the auditorium.

Hot drinks, glass and unpackaged foods will not be admitted into the auditorium.
